The fastest route to the mountain is Zig Zag

My story about street children

My name is wangaya Ronald, i am a ugandan, i am twenty two years old and i was a street child for a long period of time. You know in uganda , there are a number of street children like in Mbale district where i come from. These children come on the streets due to hardships that they are facing in their homes like wars, drunkardness, poverty, death of parents to mention but a few.

When these children come on the streets, they face a lot of problems like poor accomodation, lack of food, no parental care and they are stigimatised as being children of the prostitutes, as bastards, as carses , some are rapped others are being subjected to child labour.

I wangaya Ronald who is talking now, i have ever gone through all those challenges.I have both may parents, but this was not a gurantee to live a peaceful life.My beloved father takes a lot of alcohol and this makes him to ignore us .He refused to pay my school fees, he chased me away from home, he even vowed to kill me if i dare to to step in his compound. This came as a result of demanding for my rights like i wanted to go to school, he was to provide for me medical care becouse i was only thirteen years old so i could not afford that.

Unfortunately, he opted for a rough approach by chasing me away from home that i was disturbing him alot and i have no right to say that becouse i am just a mere child to him so i was to respect him by keeping mute.

I remember that day very well, it was a sunday when people were matching down the road going to church at a place currently called mulatsi village in bukiende sub county in mbale district my home village .My beloved uncaring dad came to my hut with a small broken pang, a blunt axe raedy to destroy my life.I was sleeping in my hut when my dad came and stood near the door calling my name and threatening to kill me.I had no option, but God had option and quick solution for me.Where i passed from to rescue my life i do not know but what i can remember is that i was able to pass between his legs and i ran away. That marked the end of my existance in the village.

I ran to town But the town was hoter than at home where i had ran from. I started living on the streets Oh no!!!! it is hard to explain becouse it makes me to start recaling all the challenges and the problems or the torture that i went through. This makes me to cry !!!!!!!!! But now i have finished high school, i am here in Norway under youth exchange programe, i am now at hald international centre, soon i am going to study at university to become a lawyer!!!!!! Bravo!!!! God is great. The way i reached this level is very long i have just cut the story briefy. But life is all about how determined you are.
